Hi there
I went to Goa 2 years ago and to Kerala last year. Kerala is much nicer than Goa, it's more relaxed and more beautiful.
Especially the town of Munnar is a beautiful little gem in the hills.
The district of Wayanad is very nice too.
If you want some photo's don't hesitate to ask.
The people of both Goa and Kerala are very friendly and we made some real good friends there.
(Even in Mumbai)
Hope I could be of help

jordan thanks so much for the info. yes, we have heard about kerela nad have seen some beautiful pictures too. the reason we picked Goa is coz even though we say retire we still want to open a business after retiring. i dont think we could sit around doing nothing. it will be fine for a while and then it would probably get to us. we have owned and operated 3 restaurants for 16 years but now my hubby and i both work for BP.but we have our sites set to go back to india in the next 7 years. not quite retiring age but that is our goal. anyway if you have any tips please write. thanks Sherry
