Re: Expats around Lake Como?

Very Happy Hi I'm Alison and I actually live in France but I have a friend here who has a friend in Santa Maria, Rezzonico near Lake Como who is feeling a little bit lonely and would like to meet up with some English speaking people. She is English . Do any of you live near Santa Maria? Her problem is she doesn't have a car and so it's difficult to get any where. Having only lived in France for about 2 and half years, I know how lonely it can feel in another country because of language etc. If you can help me to help someone else that would be great .
Thank you
Alison

Hi Everyone

I had no idea that anyone had replied after my post some time ago, so apologies it's taken so long to get back to you.

I'm based in the centre of Como, and would love to get in touch with anyone in and around the lake. For information, in conjunction with Carole B who posted originally on here, I have now organised the first of the "Como Coffee Club". Not sure how many people are going to be there at the moment, but we will be meeting on the 18th April probably in Piazza Volta somewhere (I'm just checking out places and will make a decision this weekend). We will be meeting at 1:00pm probably for a couple of hours, but as long as people want really.

Hopefully you can all make it - Anita I also sent an e-mail to your Facebook account. If you can make it, could you drop me a line - also, would be great if I could have all of your e-mail addresses so that I can add you to my distribution list for future messages. My e-mail is : sarahinolney @ yahoo.co.uk

Best wishes

Hi everyone, moving to Como soon, I am Italian born but missing for the last 25 years, I am now an Australian citizen, I just need to know if it is possible in Como to rent a room for one or two months, while I'll explore something better for my family later, many thanks.

Hello - My brother is in Lake Como traveling alone and is looking for some English-speaking residents or visitors to join him in exploring the area.

If you are interested in meeting up with him, e-mail jvandyke @ roxburygroup.com.

I guess I should add some details to my post. His name is James, he is a 30 year old professional. He was supposed to travel with others for a week, but they dropped out of the trip at the last minute.

He would love to hang out with locals at some meet-up. He also plans on hiking and exploring all of the cities along the lake.

James has limited access to e-mail, so I told him I would post this for him. Feel free to e-mail me too , pvandyke @ bergmuirhead.com. My name is Peter.
