Re: Please introduce yourself here!

Hello all,

My name's Jack and I have recently moved to the Seville area from London to work as an English teacher.

Very much enjoying my first foray into Andalusia.
I've lived in Madrid before for a year or so and I know Barcelona well but certainly a different flavor to things down here!

I do have an issue I would very much appreciate some help / advice with.

I have a motorcycle in London that I would like to transport to Seville.

Its a UK registered machine and has never been outside of the UK.
I have all the documents V5 etc.

If someone has managed to import a bike successfully and could recommend a carrier company or even just a run down on what taxes are levied and the general process - I'd be extremely grateful.

Many thanks.

Jack

Hi all.

My name is Gordon and I moved to Spain with my wife nearly 9 years ago. I have worked most of the time, almost all of it on an Autonomo basis.

We have lived on the Costa Blanca and in Almeria and currently live in Villaricos though we own a house in Lucainena de las Torres.

I have started my own blog detailing our experiences of moving to, and living in Spain, hopefully people will find it entertaining and if it helps anyone, all the better. Please have a look at www.arealspanishlife.com if you are interested in a read.

Cheers

Gordon

Hi All
Moving to Benidorm at the end of March with my partner , daughter her partner and my little grandaughter . Sooo looking forward to a new life in spain and new experiences and of course better weather !! We will be looking to rent and also looking for work ( although i will be waiting until after May to look for work as im flying back to the UK for my eldest daughters wedding ) . Ive researched most things i will need to know and do on arrival in Spain , residency , N.I.E number etc but one thing weighs heavy on my mind . I had a hysterectomy last September and am now on HRT , can i buy this from the pharmacy there or do i need a prescription ? if so how easy or difficult is it to get signed up with a doctor ? its something that i need and will do for the next 5 years any advice i would be truly grateful for . Sorry guys i guess that was a question for the ladies really lol !
Ive worked in Mental Health for many years in the Uk but am willing to try many other areas of work as long as the rent and bills get paid thats whats important . I would appreciate any advice on our move . Smile

Hi, my name is Karen McCann and I have lived in Seville since 2004. I was so relieved to arrive in Spain and discover that you aren’t actually required to buy a crumbing farmhouse and spend years restoring it with the aid of semi-literate but wise and amusing locals. I now live a delightfully urban lifestyle in Seville that's very different from the American Midwest life I left behind. But that's the great thing about living abroad: you get to reinvent yourself in a way that rarely exists outside the witness protection program. As a writer, painter and blogger, I find lots of great material here in Seville. I've just joined expatfocus.com and look forward to exploring it!
