South Africa Immigration

Post Posted: Thu Nov 17, 2005 5:36 pm

I'm looking to emigrate to SA and have looked at a few immigration service companies. Has any one had any dealings with a company called Intergate Immigration?

Hello, Alan --

My wife and I retired to Cape Town (from the USA) and obtained a temporary resident visa (for 3 years) last October. We used Intaglio as consultants and recommend them very strongly. We talked with several other consultants before selecting them, and we have been very pleased with their professionalism. (Other visa applicants have been amazed at how quickly we were approved.) We expect to to be granted permanant resident status in January 2006. [check out www.intaglio.co.za or email Thoraya at thoraya @ intaglio.co.za]

We are very happy here in SA. The outdoor opportunities (hiking, biking, watersports, etc.) and cultural happenings (films, theater, music, etc.) are of very high quality. We rent in an upscale suburb, away from much of the traffic and congestion of the city center, but just 30 minutes from the arts and cultural centers. We would strongly suggest that you visit before relocating anywhere, though.

Let me know if you want more info.

Thanks for all the info, unfortunately your recommendation was a bit too late for us since we have already engaged the services of Intergate. Having said that they have been excellent so far and have provided information to us quickly when requested and our application is underway. Our application looks like it will take a 10-12 weeks as I have to get my degree ratified by the SA authorities and that takes 8 weeks +.

We are moving to the Jo'burg/Pretoria area which I know very well since I spent pretty much a year out of the last 5 working there, hence the job offer.

Thanks again for the response

Can anyone tell me the procedure to obtain a tempory residency. I have bought a property north of Cape town and plan to spend most of my time in SA but coming home to England for the best of the summer months. I am 58 and have taken early retirement. Please advise. Thanks.
