Hi Joe,

Welcome to this forum and welcome to the Netherlands.
You will find quite some useful information on the Netherlands in the Expat Focus Country Guide about the Netherlands on www.expatfocus.com/exp...ds-holland

There is also an Expat Focus city guide to Rotterdam on www.expatfocus.com/exp...-rotterdam

Good luck with the move,

Agnes

Hi Julia,

Welcome to Expat Focus and in particular to The Hague.
I always admire people who can draw/paint as I can't. Very often I see a beautiful landscape or sunset or all kinds of green in a forest and then I wish I could draw/paint it.
Sometimes you can make a photo, but some things don't look good on a photo.

Good luck with your creativity and if you have any questions about living in the Netherlands (or The Hague), feel free to ask.

thanks,Agnes!
my main goal as a teacher - show everybody that THEY can paint well!
it is a big mistake not to try it firstly...

Right now I am looking for a good places to make Ads there about my studio, I found some but still it does not work well ...may be you know where I can let people know about my art- lessons?

best regards, Julia

Hi Julia,

There are several ways you could advertise. I am not an expert in advertising but you can think of:
- an advertisement in the Posthoorn (free weekly newspaper for The Hague)
- an advertisement in AD Haagsche Courant (local newspaper
- a free advertisement in supermarkets (e.g. Albert Heijn)
- an advertisement on Expatica (www.expatica.nl)
- advertising in The Local Expat (http://www.thelocalexpat.com/index.html), a monthly newspaper for expats in and around The Hague.

If you have people who are doing a painting class with you and are satisfied with your approach, they can tell family and friends about your offer and in that way you might get new people.

Of course, all ways of advertising depend on the money you have available.

Good luck,

Agnes

Hi Vivian,

Welcome to expat focus.
I am very sorry that it is so difficult for you to return to the Netherlands. Do you have family members who are willing to help you financially to come back and start a life here.
May be you can find an organisation in the UK that can help to solve your financial problems.
Anyway: try to make a list of steps you need to take/problems to be solved before you can go back to the Netherlands.
On the other hand: even when you are in the Netherlands you can feel alone. You haven't lived here for a long time and you will probably start making new friends. I only want to warn you not to idealise living in the Netherlands.

Best of luck,
Agnes
