Szentendre prices

Post Posted: Tue Feb 16, 2010 3:00 am

Hi Everybody,

We were looking at the places around Budapest and found Szentendre. Our search is only on the internet for now, we live in Czech Republic and we've been on a few trips to Hungary but not around Budapest. We're a family with young kids so we would like a small town or bigger village with clean air and less stress than living in the "big" city. So we think to buy land and build a house (well, after finding a job and renting first Smile but this is not related to the question); does anybody know the prices for the land in Szentendre? Is it a big difference compared to the villages around Szentendre, like Leányfalu, Sződ, etc.?

Thanks,
Indy

Yep, I saw the post but can't help I'm afraid. It's quite a way from us and I've no experience of this area. Sorry.

Thanks for the quick reply. Maybe you can recommend a website with real estate offers, is there one people use the most in Hungary?

Cheers,

There's a magazine/website (www.expressz.hu) that sells pretty much everything so I've attached the link to the page with properties in Szentendre amongst other places:

www.expressz.hu/search..._regions=1

I think the prices are quite expensive but I suppose that's due to it's close proximity to Budapest.

Hope this helps a little.
Paul

hi,

found this land for sale in szentendre:

www.ingatlannet.hu/ker...szoba_min=

could also try ingatlanbazar.hu

both sites above come in hungarian ( i can help you with transl;ation if you need it) but are for locals hence prices are not inflated for foreigners.

most youngsters can speak some english (if you want a decent job you need to) or german but do take care you are not taken advantage of!

good luck hunting

Hi,

The websites are very useful, I did not know about them.

Paul, yes, the prices seem to be high, however I noticed a very wide price range between the adds. I plan to check some of the ads, so probably I will find out why is this.

Sue, the price of the land you found is very good, maybe too good to be true Smile It's ok if the site is in Hungarian, I was speaking Hungarian at home so I can understand most of it (for work I might have a problem indeed at first). I've seen the same ad on the website twice, one for 720n and one 1019nm so it looks like a bigger parcel which is divided. The ad mentions "Külterületi SZÁNTÓ eladó" and I know "Külterületi" is something like "outside the perimeter" - so this means farm land? And I don't know what is SZÁNTÓ, maybe short for Szentendre?
