Apart from Women what's expensive and worth bringing

Hi All
I hope the title got your attention. Sorry girls.
I have just read on another Forum that someone went for Paint and it cost 10/15euro per litre.
My question is: What is expensive and worth buying in the UK and bringing with me?

I agree with wrebwren.
Piglet ... surely that is not your list of what you would buy in the UK and bring here ... we obviously shop in different places ... we have just re-furbished the living room of one of our apartmens here in a 4* complex and would not have got in the UK for what we got here.
We have bought all our electrical goods and computer goods here. You know hubby is a computer bod so obviously goes for the best buys .. I am running a desktop, he two destops and a laptop, all bought here. Just bought the most incredible Indesit washing machine which does more than I require, ie, sports shoes cycle?, jeans cycle?, 15 minute cycle to 'freshen' clothes, water level by clothes weight, five spin cycles .... for 269 Euros, delivery included and removal of old machine.
Garden tools ... they sell Hozelock and Gardena here .. can't get better than those two (I did work for Hozelock).
Maybe we are living in two different Portugals ....

Interesting!! Most things here are reasonably priced. Golf equipment is very expensive but I guess that is not much interest to many people.
I would never buy computers, HiFi or Leading edge technology gadgets here. It is at least 12 months out of date and also expensive (sorry Victoria1st).
But furniture, white goods, even TVs are all reasonably priced here.
Big gas BBQs are very expensive here. Cars are very very expensive.
Paint is certainly not expensive and you cannot buy the exterior plastic paint in the UK in any case (at least when I last lived there you couldn't to my knowledge).
Like the UK, clearly buying on the Internet can be a saving; you just have to ship it here.

Hi,
Having had some spare time in the UK recently "courtesy of the the Volcanic Ash" I had plenty of time to meander round the shops.
Furniture - cheaper in UK some great deals. I recently bought a leather 2 seater sofa in Portugal 1200 euros, I could have bought the whole suite in the UK for that! .Probably had some change as well.
Tools - I am reliably informed tools are cheaper in the UK.
Garden tools - yes cheaper. And the unnamed brands were certainly better quality, IMHO. Bought a spade here, and it bent! I am not that strong
Computers, yep bought mine in Portugal - very expensive. I could have bought an all "singing and dancing PC" in the UK for what I paid for mine, here.
Paint - we always buy paint here...about €140 (From memory) for top quality exterior paint.
