Just for information, this is the timeline since we applied for Canadian Citizenship.

Applied July 10, 2009

Application acknowledged - January 12, 2010

File transferred to Moncton April 13, 2010

Letter inviting us to attend for Citizenship test on August 25, 2010

Letter inviting us to Citizenship Oath Ceremony - October 20, 2010 (Unfortunately unable to attend as we had to fly back to the UK for my mother-in-law's funeral - awaiting another date, assuming the "judge" accepts our reason for not attending this one)

So from start to finish, it took 1 year and 3 months (give or take a few days)

Updated Thursday 10 March, 2011 - got letter today for Citizenship Oath Ceremony on March 22 at 9.30 am - very excited!!

As far as we know, 20 multiple choice questions about Canada, its history, politics, anthem, etc. Busy studying for it so keep the fingers crossed! Of course, if anyone has any other info or advice, it would be appreciated!

Thanks for that - I found that one and have been doing several questions a day and will continue up until the day of the test - terrified of failing even though we have been here 6 years!!  

Phew, glad that is over. I think all my studying paid off, either that or I was lucky with the questions. Now just got to wait and see what the letter says. If successful, should be attending the "Citizenship Ceremony" in October! - here's hoping!
