Designed by knowledgeable educators, the Summer SmARTS program 2011 at ISSP is designed to help students improve their language skills, confidence, creativity and social skills with visual arts, performing arts, the art of sports and English language arts. Summer SmARTS is a fun-filled experience that will prepare students for their studies in the new school year. Students from over 20 different nationalities are participating.

Visual Arts
Age-appropriate skills in creating, drawing and painting will be developed. Upper elementary students will be taught the skill of mindmapping. Mindmapping is a diagram used to represent words and ideas arranged around a central topic. It is an excellent aid in studying, writing, solving problems and organizing information.

The Art of Sports and Games
Saigon Sports Academy has earned a solid reputation for high quality sports instruction in HCMC. Saigon Sports Academy will work with the students to improve and build their athletic skills.


English Language Arts
The focus will be on the four basics of language: Information and Understanding; Literary Response and Expression; Critical Analysis and Evaluation; and Social Interaction. The desire is to promote the ability to communicate well, to read, write, listen, and speak, which runs to the core of human experience.

The Art of Dance
Moving to rhythms with jazz and hip hop will be an exciting aspect of Summer SmARTS program. Teacher Christine has a wealth of experience in Ho Chi Minh City. Vietnam. and in Korea.

Musical Production
With a long-standing history of producing drama and musical productions such as Alice in Wonderland, Annie, Anne of Green Gables, Oliver; White Horse lnn and The Merry Widow, Li'l Abner, Musical Director Rochelle Mulholland and Ms.Clara Bunnaster, the pianist will teach our students to perform Oliver. Oliver is a well-loved classic that provides a rich source for student participation, language and skill development. Younger students will perform a musical production of well-known Fairy Tales.
