Hi Paul,
We are looking very seriously at Nova Scotia for our retirement place.
I thought a website for expatriots would be a good place to start learning from others whom have done what we want to do.

Hi Charlie,

Nova Scotia is a beautiful maritimes province, and one that would be ideal for laid back summers and cozy winters after retirement.

This website is a great place to talk to Expats (both US and UK), Canadians and other helpful members.

I hope you find everything you need to help with your important decision.

Welcome aboard!

Good morning. I have just looked at this forum for the first time although I already belong to France and Portugal forums, all places we are looking to retire to. It was quite strange to see the letter from "peaceful" as he is useing the tiger picture I have on one of the other forums and he asks the question almost word for word as I would. I have also just noticed the date of that and the last post and get the impression I may be waiting a long time for any replies.! However I'll ask anyway. Right now we live in Australia, my husband is Australian I am British. We have been reading that it's possible to stay in Canada for up to 6 months without a visa? Does this mean 6 months in any 12 month period or that you must go outside ie USA and ask for another stamp and return to Canada after a short stay away. We tend to think it will be the former but have not been able to get an answer anywhere. Hope someone can clarify. Thanks. Anne

Hi
Thought I would introduce myself
I work in the IT sectorfor my sins, married with 5 children (not all at home thank god)
My wife and myself have been looking seriously at Nova Scotia for our retirement place. may be looking to purchase property first and use it as a summer vacation home until the time comes to retire still got a few years yet only 40!!
I thought this website would be a good place to start learning from others whom have done what we want to do and gain some usful insight into the life style.
