Banco Santander Internet Banking

Post Posted: Wed Jan 31, 2007 5:28 am

I can't access my Santander Internet banking.

I have a residents card number of the form X1234567-A and they gave me an 8-digit access code of the form 12345678

When I enter my details it comes up with an error. I've tried with and without the dash for my residents card number, and it's not working.

Has anyone else used the online banking with them? Can you tell me where I'm going wrong. I've emailed them without reply and I don't want to have to wait til i'm back in Spain again to try to sort it out.

Finally got a reply to my email. It turns out that I have to phone them for a special activation code. I did an they said their system was down, but I was on the right track!!! No idea what the other number is was given is for, but hey.

Nearly there I think.

Overall I'm not that impressed with Santander. Would you recommend Sol bank for customer service?

They have been very helpful. They have an account where you have all kinds of extras, like you can phone them for any info you want like local doctors, plumbers, gestoria, or they have a translation service, they arrange for your phone / electric to be connected for you, and they guarantee to have an English speaker in the branch. On line is also very good. They book restaurants for you, card and key protection ... I could go on. Its the Solbank prestige account. Theres a quarterly charge of something like 9 euros I think
