Who are you?
My name is Laura, and I am originally from Cleveland, OH. I moved to Placencia, Belize, about 2.5 years ago. I was a marriage counselor in the US, and my husband and I had a side business of renovating distressed properties. We loved it so much we planned on how to make this our full time job, and decided to do it somewhere warm! more ...

Who are you?
My name is Rebecca Coutant and I grew up in New Jersey...in a suburb of NYC. My family didn't travel much...just a beach trip or two, or a week's vacation to a lake in a nearby state. My junior year of college, I decided to take time off from Smith College in Massachusetts, and study for a year in London. more ...

Who are you?
My name is Jenny Smedra and I am currently teaching English in the city of Merida, Mexico. I grew up in the Midwest in a very conservative, Catholic family and was the first in my family to attend college. My family was not wealthy by any means and I worked my way through college to pay my expenses. After completing my bachelor’s degrees in Latin American History and Secondary Education, I decided to continue my studies and pursue my Master’s degree in archaeology. I spent three years living in Belize while conducting my research and studying at the local university. After graduation and several professional disappointments, I decided to continue my travels and teach English abroad. more ...

Who are you?
My name is Martin Hendrikx. I grew up in a UN family so we moved around a lot and when I graduated school, I decided that the travel bug had stuck with me. I have since traveled to over 30 countries and found much excitement in this lifestyle. I am a Dutch national and am currently living in Merida, Yucatan in beautiful Mexico.
Where, when and why did you move abroad?
I guess I could say I was raised as an expat by expats and have been one ever since I can remember. I moved to Mexico only about 4 months ago, however before coming here, I lived in the amazing little Central American country of Belize for a few years. more ...

Hello to you from Belize !! I am Macarena Rose ( really, this is my name!) and I moved to Belize over 7 years ago from the USA.
I moved to Belize as the Director of my Church to start a healing mission here- which then led me to another form of service, which is Real Estate for Expats- which as Belize does not have licensing for Real Estate practitioners- you MUST have a trusted resource who is an Expert in all things Belize- not just real estate. I am also a Certified International Property Specialist (C.I.P.S.) and I also am one of only 9 instructors in the whole world for the National Association of REALTORS (N.A.R.) who can teach this designation for them. more ...
