Australia is very unique and probably one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It has enormous diversity. From breathtaking beaches, to beautiful countryside, national parks and rivers, to historic little towns, and cosmopolitan cities with a rich nightlife, dance clubs, world's best wines and multicultural cuisine. There are numerous museums for the art lovers, events, festivals and exhibitions. And if you are someone who just wants to enjoy solitude and escape the stress of a busy life - you can do that too. If you are coming to Australia for a short period of time, do your research and make a plan of what you would like to see and experience. If you don't make a plan you will waste a lot of time in planning once you are here.
Each major city publishes a free entertainment guide, local councils print Leisure Directories and major newspapers have entertainment sections. A great source of information is the Australian Government Culture and Recreation Portal on http://www.cultureandrecration.gov.au.
