The expatriate community living in Bangkok has been established for many years, and hence it is very possible for newly relocated expatriates to enjoy many leisure and entertainment activities similar to those they are accustomed to back in their home countries.

There are many nationality-based expatriate groups, culture or social clubs, support groups for parents and pregnant expatriates, professional, business and networking clubs. For examples, The Bangkok Community Theater, The Australian-New Zealand Women's Group, The American Women's Club in Bangkok, and The American Women's Business Club. Some clubs are family-orientated, but membership fees apply. For example, The British Club. Various religious organizations also organize a fair share of activities.

Sport facilities can also be found through Bangkok city. Joining a sports club is a great way for expatriates to meet other expatriates and locals who share the same interest. Golf courses are also very popular, especially among the Japanese tourists and expatriates.
