Belgium - Leisure, Entertainment and Sports

Belgium offers a wealth of leisure and entertainment options. Its cities are home to a very lively nightlife and social scene, with many trendy bars and clubs, as well as pop music venues, theatres - some of which offer regular performances in English - and concert halls. Brussels is home of the Belgium National Orchestra and Philharmonic Society.

There are also a very large number of museums throughout the country, reflecting Belgium's rich historical heritage.

Festivals, pageants and carnivals are very popular, and there is always something being celebrated, for expatriates to enjoy as spectators or participants.

Belgians are very keen on sports, particularly football and cycling. Sports complexes can be found in most local communities, as well as state-of-the-art leisure pools and swimming pools, which are extremely popular in Belgium.

The large expatriate community in Belgium has also developed its own range of social activities, with clubs and societies covering a diverse range of pastimes, interests and national backgrounds.
