Moreover, in order to protect the local labour force from foreign competition, the Brazilian government has imposed very high permit fees on companies who wish to employ a foreign worker, which act as a deterrent.

Some sites specialize in particular areas of work, such as medicine or English language teaching. People who are interested in working in Brazil and have appropriate skills or experience may find details of suitable vacancies on the websites of large multinational corporations, or inter-governmental agencies that are based in Brazil.
