Canada's three main international airports are located close to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, the largest cities in the country. In total there are 13 international airports in Canada, in locations including Ottawa, Halifax, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton and Victoria.

Flight times to Montreal are around seven and a half hours from London, six hours from Los Angeles, and an hour and fifteen minutes from New York. Flight times to Toronto are around eight hours from London, five hours from Los Angeles, and an hour and a half from New York. Flights to Vancouver are around ten hours long from London, three hours from Los Angeles and five hours from New York.

There are many road crossings between the USA and Canada, and also from the west through Alaska. Most commonly used routes from the U.S. into Canada are New York to Montreal, Detroit to Toronto, Minneapolis to Winnipeg and Seattle to Vancouver. Greyhound U.S. and Greyhound Canada run routes between the two countries which join up with a vast network of routes joining most of their main towns and cities.

There are also Amtrak rail services from the U.S.A. into Canada, which interconnect with Canada's own national passenger rail services, provided by Via Rail. The main U.S.-Canada rail routes are New York to Montreal, New York to Toronto, Buffalo-Depew to Toronto and Seattle to Vancouver.

Canada has many ports used by international shipping lines, including Montreal which is the main port for passenger liners from Europe. There are a number of regular ferry services between the U.S.A. and Canada along the east coast, and between Washington State and Vancouver Island.
