Many expats work as English teachers. There is also work to be found for professionals in many different areas of business. Foreign experts in oenology, forestry and salmon farming are also common. Finding a job that is not English teaching can be difficult but possible with a little determination.
There are many business opportunities in Chile and for relatively little capital you can set up a business in a short space of time.

Matt Ridgway is an Englishman who has lived in South America for over three years. He worked as a private property consultant in Buenos Aires before recently moving to Chile with his Chilean girlfriend.
