Retiring & Pensions
Back to top Back to main Skip to menuChile - Retiring & Pensions
Chile is a perfect place to retire. Cost of living is low, real estate is excellent value and rent is also low should you not wish to purchase. The lifestyle opportunities are endless-from relaxed countryside living with spectacular views to a big city lifestyle. Everything is possible. As mentioned in the Immigration section, you can use your pension in order to receive residency in Chile. Any amount over the national minimum wage (around $300) is enough to obtain a resident's visa under the 'Pensionado' scheme.
You will need to contract health insurance as Chile does not have reciprocal health agreements with non-South American countries.
