Nearly all Danish people speak very good English, and it is therefore not essential to learn Danish to live in Denmark. English is also used as the main business language in some international companies in Denmark.

However, expats report that it is almost essential to speak some Danish in order to apply for jobs and to work in Denmark. It will also be appreciated by the locals if you make the effort to speak their language.
