Denmark has a particularly rich cultural heritage, in literature, theatre, music and the arts, and this is reflected in the many cultural centres, theatres, galleries and cinemas throughout the country. Denmark also has a booming national film industry. The Royal Danish Ballet, the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and the opera houses in Copenhagen and Jutland are world-renowned.
There are numerous world-renowned music festivals throughout the year, including the Roskilde Festival, the biggest rock festival in northern Europe, the Copenhagen Jazz Festival, both held in early July, and the Copenhagen Summer Festival of classical and chamber music in July and August. There are also a number of cultural festivals including the nine-day Ã…rhus Festival in September, which feature all manner of music and theatrical performances.
Legoland is an extremely popular theme park covering 10-hectares in Billund, and is Denmark's most popular visitor attraction outside Copenhagen.
