Amtrak operates trains into Florida from various locations in the United States. The Silver Service and Palmetto trains depart from New York City's Penn Station and terminate in Miami, calling in several southeastern cities along the way, including Jacksonville, Palatka, Deland, Winter Park, Orlando, Kissimmee, Tampa, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Sebring, Okeechobee, West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Deerfield Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Miami in Florida. The Auto Train operates a nonstop service for passengers and vehicles traveling from the Washington, D.C. area to Sanford, Florida.
Greyhound also operates routes into Florida, with bus stations located in all of the major cities.
Expats who will be driving into Florida will probably arrive via one of three major interstates: I-75 South (via Atlanta) or I-95 South (via Savannah) from Georgia or I-10 East (via Mobile) from Alabama. Several smaller highways connect Florida with its neighboring states. Highway 1 is a particularly scenic route, stretching all the way down the eastern coast of the state to the Florida Keys.
A less conventional way to arrive in Florida is by sea. Because much of the state consists of coastline, Florida is an obvious port of call for several cruise lines. Florida's major cruise ports are the Port of Miami, the Port of Tampa, Port Everglades, Port Canaveral, and the Port of Palm Beach.
