Getting There

Germany - Getting There

Germany's main international airports are at Frankfurt and Munich, with other major airports located at Düsseldorf, Cologne and Hamburg. Around 120 international airlines fly into Germany, and it is possible to travel there on budget airlines from other parts of Europe. Frankfurt, the busiest airport in Europe, has direct scheduled flights to 105 countries.

Germany has rail connections with France, Austria, Italy, Holland, Denmark and the Czech Republic, and from the United Kingdom via France. Within Germany, there are connecting services to destinations throughout the country.

There is a very good road network connecting Germany with the rest of Western Europe, and road links with Eastern Europe are gradually being improved. Regular coach services run into Germany from London, Paris and many other European cities.

Ferry services link northern Germany with Scandinavia and the UK.
