Getting There

Hong Kong - Getting There

Getting there is simple as most long distance carriers fly to Hong Kong. The new airport, Chek Lap Kok, is modern and well equipped and whilst it is possible to travel from the airport to Central by car/taxi or bus, the best option is to use the Airport Express. This is a dedicated train that runs between the airport and Central. Trains depart every couple of minutes and tickets can be purchased on board or at ticket vending machines and counters. The journey takes around 24 minutes. Additionally, if you are leaving Hong Kong you can check your baggage in and collect your boarding passes from the Central Airport Express terminal from up to one day in advance to 90 minutes before departure. This is well worth taking advantage of and can simplify your departure enormously. The train operates from 0550 to 0115 daily.

A shuttle bus is also available at Hong Kong and Kowloon stations for Airport Express passengers going to and from major hotels and key transport interchanges.
