What can I say about Hong Kong? Some people found the weather oppressive, the crowds confining and the differences challenging. We didn't. We loved the island, enjoyed the people and found the opportunities and life to be truly enjoyable.
We spent seven years there with our young children and we all miss our time there. I miss the friends we made, the sunshine, the food, the ease of life in a small place and the efficiency with which the island operated. I miss the friendliness of other expats and the opportunities to try new and different things. I miss the fact that I met people from all over the world and had friends of every different age and background and we all had something in common - a willingness to try new things and explore new places.
If you are prepared to accept differences then you will really enjoy Hong Kong. It won't be England, or America or Australia but it will be a wonderful opportunity to live in a major Asian city.
Enjoy!
