It is quite difficult for foreign nationals to find jobs in Hungary, unless they are employed by a foreign-owned company, at one of the embassies, or as an English language teacher. If employed by a domestic company you will normally be required to speak Hungarian, and should not expect to earn much, as salaries in Hungary are low.
There are a large number of private employment agencies in Hungary, as well as the State Employment Service (SES) and local labour exchanges, which offer free services to employers and jobseekers. Job vacancies are posted on the SES website, which also has a link to the EURES (European Recruitment Service) site with details of vacancies in Hungary.
Hungary reportedly offers good opportunities for self-employed entrepreneurs, with low start up and staffing costs and a vibrant economy.
Normal business hours are between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday.
