India is well connected on world radar and there are several government and private airlines from different parts of the globe. There are 4 major international airports in India:
Mumbai - This airport is 29 km (18 miles) north of the city with a travel time of about 40 mins to reach the heart of the city. For commutation there is Coach to Air India office & major hotels and Taxi service (with fixed rates) to city.
Calcutta - This airport is 17 km (11 miles) northeast of the city with a travel time of approximately 20 minutes to reach the city. There is a 24-hour coach service to Indian Airlines city office and major hotels. Public conveyance bus service plies since morning 0530 till late night 2200 hours after every 10 mins. Taxi service is readily available to city.
Chennai - This airport is 16 km (10 miles) southwest of the city with a travel time of about 15 mins. Coach meets all flight arrivals from 0900-2300. Train connects every 20-30 mins from 0500-2300 to city, while there is a Bus every 25 mins from 0500-2200. Taxi service to easily available to city.
All these airports have money exchange facilities, tourist information offices, hotel reservation services & airport to city buses operating 24 hours a day.
