There are a wide variety of locations in Israel which offer a good choice of different leisure and sports activities. There is an unending amount of archaeological and historical sites which attract thousands of visitors each year as well as the various nature sites. Those who are nature lovers can use the many hiking trails and several venues offer other outdoor activities like classical concerts or sports matches. Eilat has a warm climate and is sunny throughout the year. It is the ideal place to enjoy the sun and the beach as most of the hotels are within walking distance. Animals that have become extinct in nature are raised and protected in parks like the Khai Bar nature reserves in the heart of the Carmel Park and near Yotveta in the Negev. Large numbers of tourists and citizens visit these reserves each year to see and support the work of the parks. There are also many ideal places for bird watchers in Israel, as it is located on the migration routes of birds migrating back and forth from Europe to Africa.

When it comes to leisure, Israel may not be high on most people’s list of favoured destinations, but if you can look past the political problems you will find a country that has much to offer.
