Utilities (Electricity, Gas, Water)

Malta - Utilities (Electricity, Gas, Water)

Electricity - 240 volts AC, 50Hz.
Plug type - 3 pronged British plug

There are two utility providers in Malta: Enemalta Corporation (http://www.enemalta.com.mt), which supplies electricity and bottled gas, and the Water Services Corporation (http://www.wsc.com.mt), which supplies all Malta's water and disposes of its waste water . Malta has no natural gas network.

Domestic water and electricity use are metered and bills are sent out every two months. These are based on twice yearly meter readings, with estimated readings in between.

The Government of Malta provides a very helpful Information and Services Online website (http://www.gov.mt/servicecluster.asp?s=6&l=2), on which application forms for the supply of electricity and for water services are available. This website also allows customers to check their bills, and for Bank of Valletta or HSBC account holders to make online payment.
