In general, to apply for any communication service (e.g. fixed / land line telephone service, internet connection or cable television), you will need to possess a valid residence permit and have a working bank account. This is because most bills are paid via direct debit from your bank account on a regular (usually monthly) basis.

Monaco Telecom is the company that provides residential / domestic telephone line services, mobile phone services, internet connection and cable television services. Their boutique is located at 9 rue du Gabian in Fontvieille, and is open Mondays to Fridays, 7am to 7pm. The Call Center Hotline is (+377) 99.663.300.

Cable television provider Monaco Telecom offers a good range of television programs. Canal+ and Arte have some English-language programs. There is also a good offering of international news channels, such as BBC World, CNN, Bloomberg, BVN TV (Flemish/Dutch), TVE International (Spanish), TV Moda (Italian) and so on. Children television programs and family-orientated programs are also available.

As in France, green numbers are toll-free (non-chargeable) numbers. All telephone numbers in Monaco have 8-digits, and the first number is usually a 9. The Monaco Yellow Pages for residential listings (Pages Jaunes Monaco) and White Pages for business listings (Pages Blanches Monaco) are available in French. 3G services are available for mobile phone users. Prepaid and post-paid subscriptions are available.

Radio

Riviera Radio is a Monegasque English radio service. 106.3 and 106.5 FM. "Monaco Info" is a television program by the Monaco government and provides information about Monaco, local life, cultural events and initiatives. During national or big events (e.g. National Day or Grand Prix), this channel broadcasts live coverage of the events. Programs in English are broadcast every Saturday.

Postal Services is available at Post Offices (Office des Emissions de Timbres Poste). General postal services and some financial services are offered at Post Offices. Monaco issues its own Monegasque stamps that are sought after by stamp collectors. The Stamp Issuing Office of Monaco is located at 23, Avenue Albert II MC (Tel: (+377) 98.984.141; website www.oetp-monaco.com. Post offices operate Mondays to Fridays, 8am to 7pm, and on Saturdays, 8am to 12 noon. The main post office is at The Scala Palace, Beaumarchais Square. There are 6 post offices in the Monaco-Ville principality, and 7 post offices in the Condamine principality.
