Electrical appliances in Monaco are usually of two types – the rounded two-pin or the rounded three-pin type. Monaco's voltage is 127V and 220V.

Electricity and gas in Monaco are supplied by SMEG. Natural gas is piped to your residence, and is used mainly for heating and cooking. Their customer service hotline is (+377) 92.050.500 or email at smeg@smeg.mc. Website (in French) is www.smeg.mc. The emergency call center (operated daily, 24 hours) is (+377) 92.050.050. The website has useful advice on how to choose a tariff plan. The SMEG office is located in Monaco-ville (10 Avenue de Fontvieille).

Water in Monaco is supplied by the Compagnie Monegasque des Eaux (Tel: (+377) 93.303.936). In some cases, your water bill may be included in your rent – check with your landlord.

You can choose a tariff structure that best serves your needs (e.g., there is a 'off-peak' option for electricity and natural gas charges).

Household waste is managed by Monegasque Company of Cleansing. To dispose of bulky items, such as furniture and electric household appliances, call (+377) 92/057.516. For other government-related services, you can contact the Monaco's Town Hall Administrative Information Center (La Mairie) at 8000.71.35 (green / toll-free number) or Tel: (+377) 93.154.026, email centre-info@gouv.mc. The Administrative Information Center is located at 23 Avenue Prince Hereditaire Albert II, in Fontvieille. The operating hours are 930am to 530pm.

There are around 50 collective recycling bins around Monaco for recycling. Recycling efforts is currently on a voluntary basis. The bins are marked in different colors for separation of waste - glass (green), paper, newspapers and magazines (blue) and household packaging waste (yellow). The containers are buried underground.
