Panama - Getting There



Panama's international airport is Tocumen, located 27km to the northeast of Panama City. The national airline is COPA which operates direct flights to Panama from various cities in the United States, Canada and Central and South America. Miami is the main air hub for flights to Panama from the U.S.A.

There are also direct flights to Panama on other national airlines from countries in North, Central and South America, and from Spain, Holland and Taiwan. Approximate flight times to Panama are two hours and forty five minutes from Miami, and around fifteen hours from both Madrid and Amsterdam.

It is possible to travel on several road routes into Panama from Costa Rica, with the Pan-American Highway being the most popular route. There are no recommended road crossings between Panama and Columbia, since the border region is mainly jungle, and there are personal safety risks in this area.

Panama's main port is Balboa, at which many passenger vessels call.
