Panama City is not considered to be the best place to use cycling as a means of day to day transport. The sheer volume of traffic and the non-existence of dedicated cycle lanes make it dangerous. However, in some of the western areas of the country it is more popular. Cycle lanes are still non-existent but the good standard of the roads and the difference in traffic makes it a much more viable option.
