Getting There

Qatar - Getting There

Qatar currently has one small international airport, to the south-east of Doha. A new airport is currently being built, and is expected to be completed by 2010.

Most of the flights into and out of Doha airport are from other cities in the Arabian Gulf, and other parts of Asia. There are also direct routes to London and Athens. There is no direct commercial air service between the United States and Qatar.

Qatar has its own national airline, Qatar Airways, and is also a part owner of Gulf Air. Airfares into and out of the country are generally very high.

It is possible to travel by land into Qatar from Saudi Arabia using a car or bus, if you hold a valid visa to enter the country.

Many commercial freight boats enter Doha from all over the world, but there are no passenger services.
