Turkey is a large country with three main climactic zones:

1) Northern coastal region (Black Sea): cooler, more rain

2) Southern and Western coastal regions (Mediterranean and Marmara Sea): mild

3) Central interior region (Anatolian plateau): cold winters, hot, dry summers
