The following documentation is required to connect electric, gas and water services to your residence:

- Residence Permit
- Copy of your passport
- Letter of request addressed to the General Office of the utility in your district


Electricity

Electric bills are mailed each month. Payment is best arranged via automatic bank withdrawal. Payment can be made in person at approved banks, which are listed on your monthly bill. Overdue bills must be paid at your district Electric Department Central Office. There is a significant late charge for overdue bills. Dial 186 to report electrical emergencies. Central Office: (212) 237-2350


Water

Water bills are mailed every two months. Payment is similarly best arranged via automatic bank withdrawal. Payment may be made at approved banks, which are listed on your bill. Overdue payments must be made at your district Water Department General Office. Dial 185 to report water emergencies. Central Office: (212) 588-3800
