The 1977 Social Security law entitles certain groups within United Arab Emirates society to financial support, amongst which are the disabled, the elderly, those on a limited income, widows, unmarried women, divorced women, women separated from their husbands and those married to foreign nationals.
UAE nationals enjoy free education from kindergarten to university. However, this is not an option available to expat children.
