On the West Coast, Los Angeles is an option, but San Francisco tends to be a more popular option for expats. On the East Coast many expats head to New York City, especially if they are involved in business or pursuing a professional career. Other larger cities like Dallas, Washington DC, Seattle and Las Vegas also attract many people from around the world.

The Carolinas and Virginia are other popular locations for expats heading to the US. A great number of foreign nationals come to the Midwest, often due to family ties. Although the Midwest is known for its family lifestyle, there are many retirement and golf communities that also draw in newcomers.
