Many of the world's largest insurance companies have set up shop in Vietnam. Prudential, Met and New York Life and others are making large investments in the country in order to capitalize on the growing market for such products. Health insurance is somewhat more limited although as in Thailand, Blue Cross Blue Shield is said to be setting up a pretty good private health insurance option that supposedly is affordable. United Health Care, a major carrier from the US, is said to cover expenses to longer-term travelers who already have coverage with them from the US and as more people relocate to Vietnam this is certainly an issue that will become more common in the future.
