The Guide to Malaysia

from Leisure Guide Publishing Sdn Bhd
ISBN 983-2241-23-5

In the foreword to this information-packed guide, the Prime Minister of Malaysia talks proudly of his country's cosmopolitan cities and ancient jungles - a broad, positive view of Malaysia which is reflected in the contents of the book itself.

A brief glance through the guide confirms two things immediately: this is a book intended to promote Malaysia as a destination and it is a book full of useful, detailed information. No expense has been spared on the colour photography throughout the guide and it has something of a "glossy brochure" feel to it.

The guide is aimed at those visiting Malaysia for business or pleasure and in addition to travel and hotel details covers a wide range of sporting activities from golf to equestrianism. There are also sections covering places of special interest and shopping. Perhaps of greatest interest to the prospective expat, however, is the section on "Malaysia my Second Home."

This is not really a guide intended to be read straight through from start to finish, it is more likely to be used as a book which is dipped into on occasion for specific information. Although this guide is not aimed squarely at an expat audience it is full of details which will certainly be of use to those who have made the move to Malaysia.
