Poland - Communications (Telephone, Post, Internet, TV, Radio)
Page: 2/2
Poland has a large broadcasting sector. The state-owned television station TVP operates two national channels, regional channels and an international satellite channel, called TV Polonia. There are also a number of commercial TV channels, and a digital pay-TV system. Foreign channels are shown in Poland via satellite TV. Radio is less popular in Poland than TV, but there are more than 200 radio stations.
TV owners are required to pay a licence fee, either monthly or a year in advance.
Newspaper reading is not popular among Poles, although there are more than 300 newspapers published across the country, mostly at a local or regional level.
