Thailand - Communications (Telephone, Post, Internet, TV, Radio)

Television and Radio
Thailand has both domestic and satellite television services. The satellite service - UBC - is run by the family of Thailand's current Prime Minister: Thaksin Shinawatta. If you plan on staying in Thailand for any length of time, then you may wish to consider cable television (a few dollars per month) or satellite television ($50 per month, approximately), as local Thai television is very weak (and also, in Thai!).
English speaking radio services in Thailand are only found in Bangkok and the tourist destinations and most cater to music lovers of the 60s, 70s and 80s - rather than up-to-date music. So, if you are in a retro mood, Thailand is certainly the place to come!
