There are four television stations in the Cayman Islands: CITN and its sister-station CTS, CAT and CATN/TV-30. The privately owned CITN (Cayman International Television Network) and CTS (Cayman Television Service) are free over-the-air stations. CITN/Cayman 27 offers 24-hour daily transmission of local, Caribbean and International news, along with U.S., Canadian, and British news and entertainment. CTS/Island 24 has evolved into a tourism information channel. CITN offers a 35-channel cable service of international programs, by subscription. CATN/TV-30 is a Christian broadcasting station and is run by the Cayman Islands Mission of the Seventh-day Adventists.
The government-owned Radio Cayman is now in its 23rd year of operation. Its programs are designed to meet the needs of education, religion, culture and entertainment. The station operates 24 hours, seven days per week, from George Town. Radio ICCI-FM, a non-commercial station, attracts a younger crowd with its 24-hour music format. Programming includes classical and popular music, community-oriented news, and religious programs.
