Some car rental companies offer autos with either right or left side steering wheels, and if you ask they will reserve whichever suits you best. A provisional driving permit is required in order to drive in the Cayman Islands. A permit will be issued when you rent a vehicle and is valid until you leave the Islands or for six months. You will have to have a valid driver's license from your place of origin and be 21 or over or meet whatever other age requirements are mandated by the rental agency.
A ferry runs back and forth between North Sound and Rum Point on Grand Cayman. It is about a 45 minute trip each way. Private boats are available for charter, and can take you just about anywhere you want to go, for a price, but there is no public ferry from Grand Cayman to the other islands. Most people get to the smaller islands of Cayman Brac and Little Cayman by air, and two or more flights per hour are offered during the day. To fly from Cayman Brac to Little Cayman, a distance of about 10 miles, takes less than 10 minutes. To take a chartered boat costs about CI$20 each way.
