Driving License Convertion for US/Singapore Permanent Res

Anyone have the experience of converting their US or Singapore driving license to UAE driving License even if they are just permanent residence of these countries. Meaning they do not hold the passports from these countries.

Currently US and Singaporeans can convert their driving license automatically in Murouh. But I am not sure that applies to Permanent Residence holding these driving licenses.

Last year, UAE authorities would only entertain the driving licenses that corresponded with their respective passports. I am not sure they change the rule and recognise PRs.

Please advise.... thank you.

Just an update to my posting above. For all US PRs and Singapore PRs, you do not need to go thru the hassle of taking driving test at Emirates Driving School. You can automatically convert your driving license to UAE driving license. Just head over to Murour Driving License Department near Airport Road with all the the following documents:

1. US Driving license original and also make a copy of it to be safe.

2. A stamped copy of the translated US Driving license in Arabic

3. Copy of your passport.

4. NOC letter in Arabic from your company.

5. Copy of your Residence Visa

No eye test or written test for US PR. Singapore PR have to go thru eye test and some simple road signs quiz.
