Hi I posted this query in the employment forum but was told I should put it in here.
I will be finishing my Foundation Degree in Community Development next year and am looking to live/work in the US but I would like to know if this is going to be a possibility, I don't seem to be able to find any info on this am I using the wrong phrasing when I do a search? or can anyone give me any info on this.

Hello Carol --
Congratulations on completing your degree. I am new to the forum and a USC (my other half is British, now a LPR).
To the best of my knowledge, I believe that you must obtain sponsorship from an employer in order to come over. Others who are just finishing up a university or professional degree often seek a student visa by enrolling at a US university. More time in school, but many students find that they are better able to obtain job sponsorship when already stateside.
These forums are quite helpful, but I always recommend speaking to an immigration attorney to establish what the best course of action would be (if available at all). I suggest that you ring 2-4 attorneys based in the US. US solicitors generally give a free consultation or at least answer basic questions for free over the phone.
