Hi we are looking to move to Marval in the Haute Vienne, however we though we have read lots of books on retiring to France, there are some issues we need advice on i.e the providers of home and health insurance.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated

Hi Gerald & Denise,

The Haute Vienne is a lovely area, I don't know Marval personally but I'm sure it is lovely .

For information on healthcare, have you tried looking at French Entrée: www.frenchentree.com/fe-health/
They have quite a good section on the French healthcare system.

If you are looking for private healthcare insurance try BUPA or AXA - I believe that both offer policies suitable for expats.

With regards to home insurance, you can get this through your local French bank, insurance company direct or a broker. Your French bank is likely to be more expensive.

I hope the above is useful, best of luck with your move.

Sharon
