Cool Hi all
We would like to spend our summers from April to October in France when we retire and would like some suggestions where we should settle for the most sunshine in these months. We will be travelling by ferry so don't want to travel right down south although we could go over halfway down the country. Any ideas?
Ann

Hi, Have a look at the Vendée - We moved here 7 years ago - after extensive research looking for the sun worldwide for the health of our disabled daughter, and the micro-climate here, is better than we could have hoped for, very clement, averaging around 30 degrees, from March and it has been 29 degrees here today at the end of October, although we do get occasional short heat waves over 40, the humidity is very low so it is a lot more comfortable than in the UK. If you have a look at our website www.campingpouzauges.com my daughter, collected the local meterogical information over a period of time, showing daily temperatures etc., and might I add that these were collected during a couple of bad years. If you need anymore info, email me, I will help if I can.

Very Happy
Hi,Thanks very much for the reply and your help. We will look at properties in the Vendee. I have clicked on your link for buying property in the area but the link is broken. Do you know of any more estate agents who may have a barn for renovation or an old house needing renovating? I am able to communicate in French as long as they don't speak too fast! thanks Ann

HI, Just had a look at the local free newspaper - they have a web site www.paruvendu.fr then look for immobilier. There is one advert for property for renovation at Chavagne en Palliers for sale with www.actia-immo.fr There are lots of adverts for local estate agents, I will have a scan through when I have a moment and get back to you. These sort of properties are getting fewer and fewer, but there are still some about particulary barns for conversion, most of which have planning consent, when put up for sale. It would be easier to comunicate direct my email address is campingpouzauges @ orange.fr
