Moving to France

Hi everybody
Myself and my family consisting of my wife and two teenage daughters are relocating to france. We have been looking at the Dordogne and Brittany area's.
I am a qualified carpenter and specialise in barn conversion and renovation's i also make furniture. After registering with the authorities i hope to set up business. I have been in contact with some companys in dordogne area and they have asked for my Cv. Can any boby advise me on these area's. what is the schooling like ,we would like somewhere near to local ammenities ,my girls horse ride and we will be bringing the horses with us ,so we will be looking at property with some land .
I know i will have to establish myself ,but can anybody advise me what the work is like ,We will be able to manage but i obviousely want to be working.
We are learning French at the moment and cant wait to embrace the French way of life ,hope you can help .
