Hi all, I have been planning to have tour of Canada early this month. I have not made any specific bookings yet because the plan is yet too be materialized. But, I would like to have your suggestions on the place and the places that you would recommend for a stay, I will be looking at cities such as Montreal, Ottawa and other close ones. Waiting for your replies…

House of Commons
Parliament Buildings
Ottawa, Ontario
Canada
K1A 0A6
Though the tenants never shut up and the place is full of hot air...

Welcome to the expats Canada forum.
One of the things that you will need to "get used to in Canada " is that we don't have large cities right next door to each other, as you do in the UK.
Between Ottawa and Montreal, for example, along the Trans Canada highway, there is one place with a population of 30,000 people, and the distance from one to the other is 124 miles. Get used to lots of open space, between population centres here.
In Ottawa, try this website for accomodation.
www.hotels.ca/hotel-ca...el-ottawa/
In Montreal, try this one
www.hotels.ca/hotel-ca...-montreal/
Take a look at my "Ontario Photo Website " at the top of this page, for some photos of Ottawa, Ontario, that I took in the past few years.
Montreal is the largest french speaking city in the world, outside of france, but many people in the service jobs will be bi-lingual French / English.

It's very easy to lodge in down town Ottawa and that includes hotels. Several down town Ottawa hotels are reasonably priced and are close to several important Canadian historical attractions.----The Parliament buildings, The War Memorial, The war museum, The museum of civilization----plus alot more!
If you have soft soled shoes and are in reasonably good health many locations important to Canadians are within walking distance for a visitor. Down Town Ottawa is so small that it's easy to navigate on foot by bus, or fairly inexpensive by taxi.
The city of Kingston is spread out in a larger area but if you ask any one they can easily direct you to where you want to go and can give you bus routes. Kingstons main attraction is "Old Fort Henry".
